What is Trustd Score?

Trustd Score is the first AI based “behavioral screening” metric for the guests in Short Term Rental (STR) industry. Trustd.ai believes “Guest Background Screening” alone is not solving the unruly guest problems, because almost all problems in STR are caused by guests who passed background screening already.

Trustd.ai identifies the root cause of the problem as “behavioral issue” of guests and focuses on behavioral footprint of guests across multiple platforms, while also conducting screening of major criminal databases, and a light background screening from publicly available sources.

Another challenge in Today’s STR environment is that guests can use different booking channels to book your property. Since the information is not shared between the booking channels, it becomes impossible to identify the same guest between different platforms.

Therefore, by delivering a booking-channel independent AI platform, trustd.ai forms a community of guests where good behaving guests are vetted while identifying unruly guests who cause expensive damage.

Hosts are important part of our community. Each host is contributing to the platform and helping entire community to build a good behaving guest while identifying unruly guests.

What data does trustd.ai use?

Some of the database we check are Criminal Database, Sanction Lists, FBI Most Wanted List, Sex Offender Lists, etc.…Trustd.ai reserves right to change any database, add new database, or delete existing database, without informing its users.

How is the Trustd Score generated?

Trustd.ai processes the data collected from different sources, process it through its AI platform, and delivers the result back to Property Managers in the form of a metric called “Trustd Score”.

How to interpret the Trustd Score?

Since trustd.ai only uses data from STR echo-systems, the Trustd Score merely reflects the behavioral pattern of the guests in STR, when/if guests participate. Therefore, Trustd Score shall NOT be interpreted as trust score of someone in a general sense, shall not be used outside of STR segment, it does NOT guarantee the trustworthiness of a person, and it should not be solely relied upon for the determination of trustworthiness.

How accurate is Trustd Score?

Since trustd.ai is a data driven solution, the system will identify and deliver behavioral pattern as the system receives more guest data. All newcomers will be “TRUSTED” and initially will receive a DEFAULT (GOOD) Score. As guests continue using STR, it is the guest behavior which would change the default score towards higher or lower. Therefore, until trustd.ai captures some behavioral pattern about a guest, his/her Trustd score will always stay in DEFAULT (GOOD) level. It is important to understand that a new guest would receive a DEFAULT (GOOD) Score initially, and the same guest may still show bad behaviors. In this case, the system would process past behavioral data and makes it available in next inquiry.

What happens if you do not want to host, or cancel a reservation, after receiving Trustd Score

Trustd Score is delivered in near-real time. You will have plenty of time to evaluate your guests. However, if you are using instant booking in your listing, or you feel unsafe after receiving Trustd Score about your guest, you can honor or cancel the reservation as per your listing channel guidelines. Trustd.ai does not involve in decision-making process of hosts before, during, or after a stay, such as accepting a reservation, cancelling a reservation, or filing an insurance claim. Trustd.ai is committed to stay outside of entire booking operation, and you should follow the guidelines of your listing channels, as it may vary from one listing platform to another.
